Traditional coaching

This is the standard way coaches work with athletes, looking at your race calendar, where you may have a few races in the year, and then creating the plan for you based on your goals and the results of your tests.

I offer 2 levels of coaching:

  • Fundamental level
  • Advanced level

What is covered in the package

Fitness training

Workouts are delivered via Training Peaks and can sync with all indoor training systems or your bike computer. Sessions can be done indoors or outdoors with recommendation to do some sessions indoors for better control of intensity.

Workouts are based on power data and one is recommended, but if you can only train with heartrate, adaptations can be made.

Planning

Race planning is included within Training Peaks, unless you are training for one of the Mega races, in which case your planning can be done via the online planning portal (see the mega race information)

Kit selection

Kit selection is an individual process, what you read via other racer's blogs or social media posts may only be a starting point for your own kit selection. During the coaching process you will prepare your kit list via prompts in the training plan. You will be given rides where you need to test your kit so you are comfortable with your kit and know it works for you to suit your own levels of comfort.

Test event

Your race plan will include a test event. This will be planned according to your needs and what you need to test. This will be discussed on one of your scheduled calls to ensure you are testing all the right aspects for your race and they are specific to you rather than an influencer telling you what worked for them.. We all come with a different set of requirements and it's crucial you test what works for you.

Race and route planning

Currently this is managed via a shared Google Sheet where you will receive templates to assist with your planning and prompts to action items in your Training Peaks calendar.

Purchase extra call time

You can purchase extra calls should you need some extra 1:1 time..

Feedback

Feedback for your workouts is given in Training Peaks and via the planning portal (is using this).
